Katie Mullins

Registered Yoga Teacher and Ayurvedic Health Counselor | Studio Founder & Owner

Katie is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), Ayurvedic Health Counselor, and Founder and Owner of Moonflower Studio. Katie took her first yoga class at age 12 at summer camp, and returns to her mat over and over as a tool to calm her mind, release tension, and build physical and mental resilience. After learning about Ayurveda (the “Sister Science of Yoga”) during her yoga teacher training, Katie was intrigued by its intuitive wisdom and personalized approach. Katie credits yoga and Ayurveda as an integral parts of her healing journey with anxiety, trauma, chronic back pain, and chronic fatigue.

After more than a decade working in live events, business administration, and marketing, Katie left the full-time workforce in 2022 to heal from burnout and chronic fatigue. During a period of uncertainty, she found herself drawn to teaching yoga and studying Ayurveda. Through opening Moonflower Studio, Katie hopes to help others find balance in their everyday lives.

As a yoga teacher, Katie is passionate about guiding students through a mind-body practice connecting breath to movement. She is especially drawn to grounding and slow yoga practices to help balance our fast-paced world, create greater stability, and support personal introspection. Katie believes yoga is for every body and strives to give each student the opportunity to meet their authentic and whole self through conscious movement, breath, and constructive rest.

As an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Katie supports her client’s healing and everyday wellbeing by helping her clients understand their unique dosha constitution and uncover imbalances. With the goal of determining the root cause and creating an individualized wellness plan, Katie offers accessible recommendations including daily and seasonal routine, nutrition, herbalism, and yoga practices. With a broad scope of practice, Katie supports clients with digestive issues, stress management, fatigue, and pain, and is particularly interested in supporting mental health and women’s health through Ayurveda.

Katie holds a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University and completed her RYT-200 in 2018. She holds additional certifications in yin yoga, trauma informed yoga, and kids and teen yoga. Katie completed her Ayurvedic Health Counseling program through Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in 2024, and is working towards her RYT-500 certification by studying Ayurvedic Yoga through Kripalu.

Janelle McCann

Registered Yoga Teacher

My name is Janelle and I am a 200 hour certified yoga instructor through YogaFit. Since earning my 200 RYT in 2019, I have taught over 300 yoga classes at various studios and settings. I have experience teaching to a variety of audiences such as; beginners, clients who are pre/post surgery, older adults, children, active adult athletes, and to adults with disabilities. I primarily teach yoga in a vinyasa style where poses are connected via breath and organized in an intentional way to promote relaxation and prepare students for a peak pose. In one-on-one private yoga sessions I teach relaxation techniques, craft practices to client's needs and goals, and educate studios on how to deepen their yoga practice.

I am motivated to teach yoga because of its power to create relaxation, peace, healing, and transformation. Teaching others to access the calm and relaxation within themselves is deeply rewarding. My teaching style centers around establishing a safe, warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment that is supportive of each yogi's individual journey and practice. Using transformative language and modeling, I build a healthy and inviting rapport with my students. I organize all classes with focused intentions such as promoting deeper relaxation, deepening awareness, strength building, or enhancing cardiorespiratory fitness.

Lonnie Mitchell

Registered Yoga Teacher

Lonnie is a wellness and empowerment enthusiast who loves anything nature and animals (she has an American Eskimo named Romeo and two cats, Luna Bella & Prince Charming). In 2018 Lonnie quit corporate, had an eat pray love journey and became a life coach for ambitious women seeking confidence, emotional freedom, and balance for a fulfilling life. She truly believes the key to inner peace and personal growth is self-love. and loves working with moms because the kiddos then learn confidence through the mom's showing them what it looks like and every woman deserves to love herself.

Coming from corporate and a busy lifestyle she was looking for a way to slow down and connect with her body so she began experimenting with yoga, quickly understanding the benefits it can provide via mindset, spirituality, and the physical. Through Covid she decided to get certified to add classes to her life coaching course and simply because she wanted to challenge herself. Her recent challenge is learning the splits.

Though she is trained in a variety of types of yoga, yin yoga is her favorite as it allows her to truly slow down and release stored tension, stress, and stuck emotions from the body leaving a feeling of weightlessness at the end of a practice. These classes are slower paced and designed to reconnect you back with your authentic self and power for an empowered yet peaceful and grounded feeling through a blend of flow, meditation, breathwork, and stillness.
